Sacred Heart College Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at the Eskom Expo Johannesburg Regional Science Fair

Sacred Heart College is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students and educators at the Eskom Expo Johannesburg Regional Science Fair, where our school was recognised for its excellence, innovation and commitment to scientific research.
The regional science fair brought together young researchers who demonstrated creativity, curiosity and a passion for scientific inquiry through innovative projects addressing real-world challenges. Our students represented Sacred Heart College with distinction, showcasing their ability to apply research, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meaningful areas of scientific study.
We are particularly honoured to have received the following prestigious recognitions:
- Best Performing School at the Johannesburg Regional Science Fair
- Beacon of Discovery Award for the highest number of entries at District/School Level
- Azande Quntana – Best Project in Chemistry and Biochemistry (High School)
- Ms Kerisha Kistoo and Mrs Zenzile Nguyuza – Joint recipients of the Champion Educator of the Year Award, recognising their dedication to inspiring and developing young scientists.
These achievements reflect not only the quality of research undertaken by our students, but also the dedication of the educators who guide and support them throughout their scientific journeys. The recognition of Ms Kistoo and Mrs Nguyuza further highlights the important role that passionate and committed educators play in cultivating curiosity, innovation and a love for STEM.
